Nov. 4, 2022 –Great news! Rep. Aaron Micklewicz won approval yesterday for $5 million in the Massachusetts state budget to upgrade and preserve the Nazzaro building, along with $20 million funding for the new community center on the waterfront. Micklewicz said that the combined money must be spent by 2026 and is contingent on protecting the historic Nazzaro building exterior with landmark status, ad keeping the Nazzaro building in non-profit service as part of the deal. Stay tuned for more information about this in the coming weeks!

Progress indeed!!! Thank you, Ellen, for your tireless work and inspiring dedication to that much loved building. This is an extremely important win for the neighborhood’s past, present, and future. You have set the bar for the rest of us because we all know that there more fights to fight.
Grazie mille,
Kim Reynolds
We need to preserve part of this building for the seniors that meet for activities they will not be able to walk to any new location and I’m counting on Aaron to make sure that provisions are made for the seniors no matter who takes it over. They have supported our north end all their lives.
